Managing change with confidence
This RSE & PSHE video explains how the unit helps pupils understand puberty as a normal part of growing up and supports them to manage physical and emotional changes with confidence. Teachers are guided through learning that helps pupils develop accurate knowledge, use correct vocabulary and recognise that everyone experiences puberty at their own pace.
The video outlines learning about the physical and emotional changes associated with puberty, including body development, periods, personal hygiene and changing feelings. It also explores personal boundaries, respect for others and the importance of seeking support from trusted adults when needed. Practical guidance is included for creating a safe and respectful learning environment, including establishing class agreements, using a wonder box to manage questions sensitively and referring to school policies and safeguarding procedures where appropriate.
This video is part of Kapow Primary’s RSE & PSHE KS2 videos, which enable teachers and pupils to explore growth and change and help develop personal, social and emotional skills, as well as an understanding of relationships and health education.
