Knowing who we can trust and talk to

This RSE & PSHE video helps the children understand who trusted adults are and why they are important. They learn that trusted adults are people who care about them, listen to them and help keep them safe when they feel worried, hurt, confused or upset. Through a range of examples, the video explores different trusted adults in children’s lives, including parents and carers, family members, teachers, school staff, coaches and other safe adults in the community.

The video also helps the children recognise some signs that an adult may not be acting in a safe or trustworthy way. They learn that safe adults do not ask them to keep secrets that make them feel uncomfortable, worried or scared. They are encouraged to speak to a trusted adult if something does not feel right and reminded to keep asking for help until they are heard. This supports the children in understanding how to seek support and stay safe.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s RSE & PSHE KS1 videos, which enable teachers and pupils to explore growth and change and help develop personal, social and emotional skills, as well as an understanding of relationships and health education.
