Getting help when something does not feel right
This RSE & PSHE video helps the children understand the importance of telling a trusted adult when something online makes them feel worried, confused, scared or uncomfortable. Through a series of relatable scenarios, the children explore some of the reasons people might hesitate to ask for help, such as worrying about getting into trouble, losing access to a device or feeling embarrassed about a mistake they have made.
The video reassures the children that asking for help is the best way to stay safe and that trusted adults can support them when something does not feel right. Through examples involving online games, messages and upsetting content, the children see how adults can help solve problems, offer reassurance and support safer choices in the future. The video reinforces the message that no one has to deal with online worries alone and encourages children to speak to a trusted adult whenever they need help.
This video is part of Kapow Primary’s RSE & PSHE KS2 videos, which enable teachers and pupils to explore growth and change and help develop personal, social and emotional skills, as well as an understanding of relationships and health education.
