  • Explore the natural world around them, making observations and drawing pictures of animals and plants.

Support and challenge

Adults can use the opportunity to:

  • Cut open fruit such as apples, oranges and tomatoes to explore the seeds inside with the pupils.
  • Talk to the children about what they think would happen if they did not water the seeds.
  • Encourage the children to compare the size and shape of different seeds and bulbs; prompt them to guess what plant each might grow into.
