ELG: The Natural World
Children at the expected level of development will:
- Understand some important processes and changes in the natural world around them, including the seasons and changing states of matter.

Support and challenge
Adults can use the opportunity to:
- Take the children on an outdoor sound walk to develop their listening skills and awareness of different sounds in their environment.
- Encourage the children to share their reasoning for choosing particular instruments during the ‘Guess the instrument’ task (see Carpet time).
