Observations

Can the children:

  • Talk about one way they are different from someone else?
  • Use respectful language when talking about similarities and differences?

Adaptive teaching

Adults could give support by:

  • Providing photographs of each child to support drawing their self-portrait and identifying similarities and differences.
  • Using sentence starters, such as ‘We both…’, ‘I am different because…’ and ‘My partner has… but I have…’, to support discussion.
