Observations

Can the children:

  • Talk about something they enjoy doing?
  • Listen to a partner talk about something they enjoy?
  • Recognise that people may enjoy the same or different things?

Adaptive teaching

Adults could give support by:

  • Showing the Resource: My interests to help the children choose something they enjoy.
  • Encouraging the children to point to a picture on the Resource: My interests before answering verbally.
  • Using sentence starters, such as ‘I like…’ or ‘My favourite… is…’ to support responses.
