Can the children:

  • Identify a similarity and a difference between themselves and others?
  • Talk about something that makes them unique?
  • Recognise that everyone is unique?

Adaptive teaching

Adults could give support by:

  • Offering the option to draw around the child’s hand instead of using paint if they are sensitive to sensory experiences.
  • Modelling sentence starters during the Adult-led task, such as ‘I like…’ and ‘I’m good at…’, to support the children to talk about themselves.
