Teaching about drugs, medicines and safe choices

This RSE & PSHE video supports teachers in delivering learning about drugs and medicines in a clear, safe and age-appropriate way. It explains key vocabulary and concepts, helping teachers build pupils’ understanding of how medicines can help people and why some drugs can be harmful.

The video provides practical guidance for discussing medicines, safety rules and decision-making, helping pupils understand how to make responsible choices and seek support from trusted adults. It also offers advice for handling sensitive conversations and responding appropriately to any safeguarding concerns, supporting teachers to deliver the lesson with confidence.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s RSE & PSHE KS2 videos, which enable teachers and pupils to explore growth and change and help develop personal, social and emotional skills, as well as an understanding of relationships and health education.
