This Music video provides Year 3 pupils with the opportunity to practise reading and performing rhythmic patterns by helping an alien return to its home planet. Children clap along to a series of increasingly challenging four-beat rhythms, applying their knowledge of crotchets, paired quavers, minims and crotchet rests in a fun, engaging context.

The video supports pupils in applying their understanding of rhythm as they identify note values, count rests accurately and maintain a steady beat. As the rhythms become more varied, children develop confidence in reading rhythmic notation and performing with increasing fluency and accuracy.

Through guided clap-along activities, pupils consolidate the learning from across the unit while strengthening their rhythmic reading and performance skills. The video encourages active participation and provides an enjoyable way to reinforce key musical concepts.
