Maryia's online experience

This RSE & PSHE video follows the older Kapow character, Mariya, who experiences online bullying after a photo of her is edited and shared online. It explores how online bullying can affect a person’s feelings, confidence and enjoyment of school and online activities and why it is important to seek help from a trusted adult.

The video explains how Mariya responds safely by telling her teacher, taking a screenshot to save evidence and reporting and blocking the accounts involved with the support of her friends. It demonstrates positive ways to respond to online bullying and reinforces that children should not deal with it alone.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s RSE & PSHE scheme of work and supports children to understand the impact of online bullying and make safe, positive choices online.
