Using a growth mindset to face challenges

This RSE & PSHE video helps the children understand what a growth mindset is and how it can help them face challenges with confidence. The pupils learn that abilities and understanding can grow through effort, practice and persistence, and that feeling nervous or unsure when trying something new is a normal part of learning.

The video introduces simple growth mindset strategies to help the pupils keep going when things feel difficult. They explore how breaking tasks into smaller steps, learning from mistakes, listening to feedback and asking for help can support progress. They also learn that teamwork and perseverance can help them improve over time. This supports the pupils in developing resilience, confidence and a positive attitude towards learning.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s RSE & PSHE LKS2 videos, which enable teachers and pupils to explore growth and change and help develop personal, social and emotional skills, as well as an understanding of relationships and health education.
