Recognising warning signs and staying safe

This RSE & PSHE video helps the pupils understand how warning signs can help keep them safe. They learn that warning signs can be things they see, such as safety signs, warning symbols or situations that look unsafe, as well as things they feel inside their bodies, such as a nervous tummy, sweaty hands, a racing heart or feeling shaky.

The video encourages the pupils to pay attention to these clues and recognise when something does not feel right. They learn that warning signs can happen in both unfamiliar and familiar situations and that noticing them can help them avoid danger and make safer choices. The video introduces three simple steps: spot the hazard, understand the danger and choose a safe action. The pupils are encouraged to move to safety and tell a trusted adult if they are worried or feel unsafe.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s RSE & PSHE KS2 videos, which enable teachers and pupils to explore growth and change and help develop personal, social and emotional skills, as well as an understanding of relationships and health education.
