Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support

Should use the audio for the shopping list items to listen and highlight where they hear stress in each word; should use the Knowledge organiser for vocabulary support.

Pupils working at greater depth

Should be challenged to suggest other previously known vocabulary which follows the pronunciation rules; should apply the pronunciation rules to new words as encountered.
