This Design and technology scheme of work video introduces teachers to product concept images, equipping them with the knowledge to help the children visualise, communicate and refine their design ideas. It explains the role of concept drawings in the design process, from simple annotated sketches in Year 3 to more advanced exploded diagrams and isometric illustrations by Year 6. Teachers are guided in supporting the children to express creativity, show function and form and use labels to clearly explain product features and purpose.
