Understanding the changes of puberty

This RSE & PSHE video explores how the unit supports pupils in understanding the physical and emotional changes that happen during puberty, helping teachers approach these topics in a safe, age-appropriate and reassuring way.

The video outlines key learning around puberty, body changes, periods, emotional wellbeing and personal boundaries. It explains how pupils develop confidence using correct vocabulary, learn about the importance of respecting all bodies and build their understanding of consent, safe and unsafe touch and seeking support from trusted adults. The video also provides guidance for creating a respectful learning environment, including using class agreements, managing questions sensitively and following school policies and safeguarding procedures where appropriate.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s RSE & PSHE KS2 videos, which enable teachers and pupils to explore growth and change and help develop personal, social and emotional skills, as well as an understanding of relationships and health education.
