Teaching water safety with confidence
This RSE & PSHE video supports teachers in delivering water safety education with confidence. Developed with guidance from the Royal Life Saving Society, it explores how to help pupils recognise hazards, assess risks and make safe choices in, on and around water.
The video introduces key water safety messages, including the water safety code and the float to live technique. It also provides practical guidance for discussing different water environments, responding to emergencies and helping pupils understand how to stay safe around water, whatever their previous experience or confidence level.
This video is part of Kapow Primary’s RSE & PSHE KS2 videos, which enable teachers and pupils to explore growth and change and help develop personal, social and emotional skills, as well as an understanding of relationships and health education.
