Recognising and naming emotions

This RSE & PSHE  video helps the children recognise and name different emotions, supporting them in understanding how feelings can be shown through facial expressions and body language. Using short video clips, the children practise identifying emotions by looking carefully at visual clues.

The children learn the names of six common emotions: happiness, sadness, anger, fear, surprise and disgust. The video revisits each clip in a grid, helping the children match what they see to the correct vocabulary. This supports the children in building emotional awareness and recognising emotions in themselves and others.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s RSE & PSHE KS1 videos, which enable teachers and pupils to explore growth and change and help develop personal, social and emotional skills, as well as an understanding of relationships and health education.
