Connecting with others
This RSE & PSHE video supports teachers in understanding the core skills and themes that run through the Connecting with others units. It provides a clear overview of how pupils develop healthy relationship skills over time, from learning to name feelings and communicate kindly in Key stage 1, to exploring teamwork, empathy and respectful communication in Key stage 2.
The video explains the progression of concepts such as understanding different types of relationships, communicating and listening to boundaries and resolving disagreements. It demonstrates how the Kapow Connecting with others units ensure children gain the confidence to express themselves, consider others’ perspectives and form positive, supportive connections. It shows how the units model language and behaviour that promote kindness and inclusion, and highlights how children can ask trusted adults for help when they need it.
This video is part of Kapow Primary’s RSE & PSHE videos, which enable teachers and pupils to explore growth and change and help develop personal, social and emotional skills, as well as an understanding of relationships and health education.
