How movement supports our bodies and minds

This RSE & PSHE video helps the children understand why movement is important for both their bodies and minds. They explore how everyday activities such as walking, dancing, stretching, cycling or playing games can help their muscles stay strong and give them more energy. The video highlights that movement can look different for everyone and encourages the children to find activities they enjoy.

The video also explains how movement can support concentration, learning and emotional wellbeing. The children learn that being active increases blood flow to the brain and releases chemicals called endorphins, which can help improve mood and reduce stress. The video shows how movement can also help the body relax and support better sleep, encouraging the children to include regular movement as part of a healthy lifestyle.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s RSE & PSHE UKS2 videos, which enable teachers and pupils to explore growth and change and help develop personal, social and emotional skills, as well as an understanding of relationships and health education.
