Working together respectfully online

This RSE & PSHE video helps the children explore how online communication can sometimes lead to misunderstandings and hurt feelings. Through the story of Priya and Amira playing a building game together, the children see how working as a team online can become difficult when people have different ideas and do not communicate clearly.

As the story unfolds, the children watch a disagreement develop when one player begins making changes without discussing them and sends messages that feel demanding or unkind. The video encourages children to think about how online messages can be interpreted differently from face-to-face conversations, where tone of voice and facial expressions provide extra clues. By reflecting on the characters’ thoughts and feelings, the children develop empathy, consider how their actions can affect others online and explore positive ways to communicate and work together respectfully.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s RSE & PSHE KS2 videos, which enable teachers and pupils to explore growth and change and help develop personal, social and emotional skills, as well as an understanding of relationships and health education.
