Learning the names of body parts

This RSE & PSHE video helps the children learn the names of different parts of the body, including those that are private. They learn that all body parts have important functions and that using the correct names helps us talk about our bodies clearly and confidently.

The video revisits familiar body parts before introducing the idea that some parts of the body are private and are usually covered by underwear or swimwear. The children learn the correct names for these body parts and explore some simple similarities and differences between boys’ and girls’ bodies in an age-appropriate way. The video reinforces that everybody deserves respect and that using the right words can help children ask questions, communicate clearly and seek help when they need it.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s RSE & PSHE KS1 videos, which enable teachers and pupils to explore growth and change and help develop personal, social and emotional skills, as well as an understanding of relationships and health education.
