Pupil video: Logging in

How to log in

This Computing introduces pupils to the idea that many people can use the same computer. Children learn that logging in helps a computer recognise who is using it and keeps their work separate from other users.

The video explains the steps involved in logging in to a shared computer. Pupils learn how to enter a username, use a password and complete the login process. It also introduces the importance of keeping passwords secret and only sharing them with trusted adults.

Children are encouraged to remember the order of the login process using the words first, next and then. The video helps pupils understand how logging in allows them to access their own work and use a shared computer safely and independently.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Computing videos, which help pupils develop their understanding of computer systems and digital technology. It supports children in learning how computers recognise different users and how to use shared devices responsibly.
