How being active helps our bodies and minds

This RSE & PSHE video helps the children understand how different physical activities support their bodies and minds. The children learn that being active includes many types of movement, not just sports, such as playing outside, walking, dancing or taking part in games. They explore how different activities help their bodies in different ways, including improving coordination, strengthening muscles and bones and keeping their hearts and lungs healthy.

The video also helps the children understand how being active supports their emotional wellbeing. The children learn that movement can help them feel happier, calmer and more focused. Through simple and enjoyable examples, the children are encouraged to find ways to be active that they enjoy, helping them build healthy habits and take care of both their physical and mental health.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s RSE & PSHE LKS2 videos, which enable teachers and pupils to explore growth and change and help develop personal, social and emotional skills, as well as an understanding of relationships and health education.
