Pupils needing extra support

Year 1: Focus on one category of rule at a time and try to find all the rules that help us to stay safe, for example.

Year 2: Write or draw what would happen if we did not have the rule.

Pupils working at greater depth

Year 1: Could identify rules that could fall into more than one category (by overlapping the hula hoops, if used, to create a Venn diagram). Could be asked to add any other school rules.

Year 2: Could consider which class rules they think are most important and why.
