Hall of Fame performance

This Music video supports Year 6 pupils in rehearsing and refining a group performance that combines original lyrics with a four-chord accompaniment. It explores how performers work collaboratively to organise roles, rehearse effectively and bring together instrumental and vocal parts to create a cohesive final performance.

The lesson guides children in assigning responsibilities within their group, including playing the four-chord sequence and performing the verse and chorus. Pupils revisit the chord progression of E, C, G and D and practise performing the introduction, verse and chorus with accuracy and confidence.

Children develop their ensemble skills by rehearsing individual parts before combining them, focusing on keeping a steady beat, listening carefully to others and performing together successfully. The video also encourages pupils to enhance the impact of their performance through expressive singing, stage awareness and the effective use of songwriting techniques such as rhyme and repetition to communicate a clear message.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Music videos, which support teachers in developing confidence and subject knowledge when helping children explore songwriting, ensemble performance and musical expression.
