Managing .hex files
This Computing video introduces teachers to downloading and opening .hex files in the Python editor, supporting them in preparing files and managing children’s work during lessons.
The video explains the two ways .hex files are accessed: through the Have ready section, where files download as zip files that need extracting, and by saving projects directly from the editor. It guides teachers through locating, extracting and storing files in shared locations, as well as opening files in the editor and replacing existing projects when needed. The video helps teachers feel confident supporting children to save, access and reopen Python projects across lessons.
This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Year 5 and 6 videos, which provide guidance and support to help teachers develop confidence and subject knowledge when delivering the computing curriculum.
