Growing, changing and respecting our bodies

This RSE & PSHE video explores how the unit supports pupils in understanding growth and change in an age-appropriate, safe and respectful way, while building confidence, independence and personal safety.

The video outlines key learning around body changes, self-care, privacy and personal boundaries. It explains how pupils develop the vocabulary to talk about their bodies using correct terminology, understand that private parts are those covered by underwear or swimwear and learn the importance of consent, permission and respecting boundaries. The video also provides guidance for creating a safe learning environment, including establishing class agreements, using tools such as a wonder box and responding appropriately to pupils’ questions.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s RSE & PSHE KS1 videos, which enable teachers and pupils to explore growth and change and help develop personal, social and emotional skills, as well as an understanding of relationships and health education.
