Advanced dribbling in football

This PE scheme of work video introduces teachers to advanced dribbling techniques to help Key stage 2 pupils develop greater control and confidence with the football. It recaps how to use the inside and outside of the foot to guide the ball, and introduces a new technique, dribbling with the laces, for use in open space to increase speed. Teachers will learn how to support pupils in applying these techniques, stopping the ball safely, and keeping it close through light touches and careful foot placement.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s PE Football resources. It simplifies the process, guiding teachers through engaging games like “Triangle Tag” and “Beat the Back Two,” which encourage children to react to other players, change direction and stay in control under pressure. With step-by-step instruction and fun activities, this lesson helps pupils refine dribbling and movement as they build towards more game-based play.
