Religion and worldviews: an introduction to Kapow Primary’s scheme

Scheme overview

At Kapow Primary, our Religion and Worldviews (R&W) curriculum adopts a contemporary, inclusive approach grounded in the diversity of belief and lived experience. Designed in consultation with experienced RE advisers and representatives of a broad range of worldviews, it prioritizes authentic representation and avoids stereotypes.

The curriculum encourages pupils to explore and understand organized and personal worldviews, fostering open-mindedness and critical thinking. By examining teachings and practices across global religions and non-religious perspectives, children reflect on their own developing beliefs—building a rich, nuanced understanding of how people make sense of life.
