Understanding a balanced and healthy diet

This RSE & PSHE video helps the children understand what a balanced diet is and why it is important for staying healthy. The children learn about the five main food groups and how eating a variety of foods helps their bodies stay strong, healthy and full of energy. The video introduces the simple idea of go, grow and glow foods, helping the children understand how different foods support different parts of the body.

The video encourages the children to think carefully about their food choices. The children explore the difference between natural foods and highly processed foods and learn why eating too much sugar, salt or fat can affect their health over time. This supports the children in making positive choices and developing healthy habits for their wellbeing.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s RSE & PSHE LKS2 videos, which enable teachers and pupils to explore growth and change and help develop personal, social and emotional skills, as well as an understanding of relationships and health education.
