Protecting networks and accounts

This Computing video introduces the children to ways of protecting networks, devices and accounts. The children learn why important data needs to be kept secure and explore different ways of checking a user’s identity before access is allowed.

The video introduces passwords, biometric security and two-factor authentication, showing how different security measures can provide layers of protection. By comparing these methods, the children explore why some accounts may need stronger security than others and consider which methods are most suitable for protecting different types of accounts.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Computing videos, which help pupils develop their understanding of computer systems and digital technology. It encourages children to recognise how computers are used in everyday life and the different ways they can help us.
