Copy the patterns to the beat

This Music video provides Year 3 pupils with the opportunity to practise performing simple body percussion patterns to a steady beat. Children watch, listen and copy a range of rhythmic patterns, developing confidence in keeping in time with the pulse while coordinating different body percussion actions.

The video supports pupils in applying their understanding of beat and rhythm as they perform along with the music. By copying and repeating increasingly varied patterns, children develop their timing, coordination and ability to maintain a steady beat.

Through guided copy-and-repeat activities, pupils strengthen their rhythmic skills and gain experience of performing accurately with others. The video encourages active participation and supports children in developing fluency, concentration and confidence in performance.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Music videos, which support teachers in developing confidence and subject knowledge when helping children explore pulse, rhythm and body percussion.
