  • To apply an understanding of tone to create a 3D drawing

National curriculum

Pupils should be taught:

  • To use drawing, painting and sculpture to develop and share their ideas, experiences and imagination
  • To develop a wide range of art and design techniques in using line, shape, form and space
  • Be taught about the work of a range of artists, craft makers and designers, describing the differences and similarities between different practices and disciplines, and making links to their own work

Pupils needing extra support: Can use the Activity: Lightbulb template – support version copied onto the card. Children may need help to cut out the light bulbs.

 

Pupils working at greater depth: Can be encouraged to blend smoothly between dark and light and to consider other areas to show tone, such as the cap of the lightbulb.
