This parent and carer information letter supports schools in communicating upcoming Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) learning with families before teaching the unit RSE & PSHE, Key stage 1, Growing up: How can we look after and respect our bodies as we grow?

The letter explains the key learning children will cover, including growing and changing, correct names for body parts, personal boundaries and trusted adults. It also outlines how the learning links to statutory Relationships Education, Health Education and Science requirements and offers suggestions for supporting conversations at home.

The resource is designed to help schools share information clearly and confidently with families and can be adapted to reflect individual school policies and procedures before distribution.
