Exploring places people find special

This Religion and worldviews video introduces teachers to the unit “What Are Special Places?” and supports the teaching of three Development Matters statements. It equips teachers to help children explore the idea that places can be special for different reasons, including both religious and non-religious contexts. The video explains how children learn about churches and mosques as places of worship and community, while also reflecting on places that are personally special to them. It also supports the planning of a local visit and encourages respectful conversations about diversity, belief and belonging.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Religion and worldviews resources – community. It simplifies big ideas for younger pupils, ensuring teachers feel confident and prepared to help children explore meaning, place and connection in the lesson and unit below.
