An overview of the knowledge and skills covered in unit

This Computing teacher video supports teachers in delivering the unit, introducing the key knowledge, skills and vocabulary pupils develop throughout the sequence of lessons. It explores how websites are made up of web pages connected by links and how pupils learn to navigate between pages, follow routes through websites and use search tools to find information.

The video also explores how pupils develop their understanding of website logins and why keeping passwords secure and logging out of shared devices helps protect personal information. It provides guidance on using live websites safely and addresses key vocabulary and common misconceptions, supporting teachers in explaining internet concepts clearly and developing pupils’ confidence in navigating websites safely.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Computing videos, which help pupils develop their understanding of computer systems and digital technology. It encourages children to recognise how computers are used in everyday life and the different ways they can help us.
