Christmas monoprinting techniques for teachers

This Art and design video guides teachers through a festive and creative printmaking activity, where children will transform their observational tree drawings into unique monoprints. The lesson revisits key drawing techniques before introducing the monoprinting process, encouraging pupils to explore how different pressures and layers affect their final print.

The video provides a step-by-step demonstration of the technique, covering how to prepare a background, apply ink to an acetate sheet, and carefully transfer drawings to create effective prints. Teachers will gain insights into helping children refine their artwork through layering, pressure control, and additional decorative techniques to enhance their festive designs.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Art and Design – Christmas Craft series. It supports teachers in delivering an engaging and hands-on printmaking lesson, helping children develop their artistic skills while creating beautifully festive prints.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Craft and design: Architecture unit.
