How do some Hindus welcome a new baby?

This Religion and Worldviews video introduces teachers to Jatakarma and Namakarana, Hindu ceremonies that welcome a newborn into their family and community. It explains how sacred words, symbolic acts and naming rituals express Hindu beliefs about life, spirituality and heritage.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s RE – Teacher subject knowledge videos. It helps teachers guide children to explore the meaning behind these traditions and reflect on shared themes of joy, celebration, identity and belonging.
