Understanding the roles of healthcare workers

This RSE & PSHE video introduces the pupils to the people who help us stay healthy and care for us when we are ill. The children learn about healthcare workers and how their jobs help people feel better and stay well.

The video explores how healthcare workers do more than treat illnesses. They also help prevent people from becoming unwell through check-ups, advice and medicines that protect against illness. The pupils see examples of visiting a doctor for a health check, receiving medicine when they are poorly and having regular dental check-ups to keep their teeth healthy. They also learn about pharmacies and the role of pharmacists in giving advice and providing medicines. The video highlights that a trusted adult should always give medicines to keep children safe.

This video is one of Kapow Primary’s RSE & PSHE KS1 videos, which help teachers and pupils explore health, wellbeing and how to stay safe in everyday life.
