What’s inside the Bible?

This Kapow pupil video is part of the Kapow Religion and worldviews scheme of work. It explains that the Bible might look like one book, but it’s really a collection — like a whole library. It contains 66 books, written by over 40 different people, including shepherds, kings, doctors, and fishermen, over hundreds of years. These books have different styles of writing, such as stories, poetry, laws, and letters.

The Bible is made up of the Old Testament, written before Jesus was born, and the New Testament, which tells the story of Jesus and early Christians. Inside, there are chapters and verses to help people find specific parts. Many Christians believe the Bible is holy and inspired by God. Some Bibles also include extra books depending on the Christian tradition. With an estimated five billion copies sold, the Bible is the best-selling book of all time. Why do you think so many people read it?

The video is designed to be shown to pupils as part of Religion and worldviews, key stage 2, Year 4, *Updated* Why is the Bible the best-selling book of all time? Lesson 2 What is in the Bible?
