The Lost Sheep story

This Kapow pupil video is part of the Kapow Religion and worldviews scheme of work. It tells a story that Jesus once shared with his friends to help them understand how much God loves every single person. In the story, a shepherd has one hundred sheep and looks after them every day. One day, he realises one sheep is missing. Even though he still has ninety-nine, the shepherd goes to search for the lost one. He doesn’t give up and is full of joy when he finally finds it. Jesus told this story to show that everyone is special to God, and that, just like the shepherd, God cares deeply for every person — especially those who may feel lost or far away.

The video is designed to shown to pupils as part of Religion and worldviews, Reception, Reception Units, What makes us special, Lesson 4: Why should we care for others?
