Mastering the drag back

This Kapow pupil video is part of the Kapow PE scheme of work. It is designed for pupils and focuses on the drag back, a football skill that helps players evade opponents and quickly change direction. The video begins by showing how to drag the ball backwards using the sole of the foot, followed by using the inside of the foot to push the ball in a new direction, creating a V-shape movement. Pupils then learn how to use the drag back to turn, combining the backward roll with a body rotation to change direction. They are also reminded of alternative turning methods using the inside and outside of the feet.

The video is designed to be shown to pupils as part of Physical education, key stage 2, KS2, Football, Lesson 1: Ball control
