How do people use special lights?

This Religion and worldviews video helps children explore how people around the world use light in special ways. It introduces the idea that lights can help people celebrate, remember and show what is important to them.

The video shares examples from different festivals, such as Diwali, Hanukkah and Advent, showing how light can symbolise hope, love and joy. Pupils will see how candles, lamps and other lights are used in stories and celebrations and learn why light is special in many religions and cultures.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s KS1 Religious education videos, which enable teachers and pupils to explore different beliefs, values and traditions and develop respect and understanding for people of all faiths and worldviews.
