Shooting with power and accuracy

This Kapow pupil video is part of the Kapow PE scheme of work. It is designed for pupils and develops shooting accuracy and power using the top of the foot. The video begins by revisiting key technique elements: planting the non-kicking foot beside the ball, keeping the knees slightly bent, and swinging the kicking leg back to build power. Pupils learn to lock the ankle and strike the ball with the top of the foot for a strong, straight shot. Emphasis is placed on following through with the body facing the target and using the arms to increase power. Pupils are encouraged to experiment with striking different parts of the ball to explore how it affects the shot.

The video is designed to be shown to pupils as part of Physical education, Upper key stage 2, UKS2, Football, Lesson 4: Shooting
