I am a scientist song

This Science EYFS and Reception video encourages children to think and act like scientists. Through simple, engaging questions about the world around them, it models curiosity and supports pupils in asking their own scientific questions. The video highlights how wondering, noticing and exploring are key parts of working scientifically in the Early Years.

The song covers a range of familiar topics, including materials, space, animals, plants, the human body and everyday objects. It helps children understand that scientists ask questions, investigate and look for answers. By joining in with the chorus, pupils build confidence in seeing themselves as scientists who can make discoveries.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Science Working scientifically resources. It supports teachers in fostering curiosity, language development and early enquiry skills, helping children explore the world with confidence and enthusiasm. This is important for all stages of Science learning.
