Understanding how our bodies feel when we are unwell

This RSE & PSHE video helps the pupils understand different ways their bodies might feel when they are unwell. Through clear explanations and simple demonstrations, the children learn vocabulary such as sore, ache, itch, sharp pain, feeling sick, dizzy and tired, helping them recognise and describe what is happening in their bodies.

In the video, the presenter models actions that represent each feeling and the pupils are encouraged to copy them. This interactive approach helps them connect physical sensations with the words used to describe them. By repeating the movements and vocabulary together, the video particularly supports SEND and EAL learners, helping them understand and remember new language while building confidence in expressing how they feel.

The video encourages the pupils to use these words and actions to help explain when something hurts or when they feel unwell, so they can tell a trusted adult and get the help they need.

This video is one of Kapow Primary’s RSE & PSHE KS1 videos, which help teachers and pupils explore health, wellbeing and how to stay safe in everyday life.
