Managing .hex files

This Computing video introduces Year 6 pupils to saving, downloading and reopening Python projects using .hex files. It supports the children in managing their work in the Python editor.

The video explains how to save a project so it downloads as a .hex file and where this file is stored on their device. The children learn how to open a saved file using the Open option and what it means to replace an existing file in the editor. The video helps the children understand how to safely save, reopen and continue working on their Python programs.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Computing Year 5 and 6 videos, which enable teachers and pupils to develop their digital skills, explore key computing concepts and create their own digital projects.
