In this Design and technology video, the pupils are introduced to a range of switches that can be used to turn electrical products on and off or choose settings.

The video explains to pupils that a switch is a component that can control an electrical circuit. Pupils are shown examples of various types of switches and guided to see how they are helpful to the user in different ways, such as making products safer, easier to use and saving energy.
