Advent traditions

This Religion and worldviews video helps pupils explore how light is used in special ways during Advent. They will discover that Advent means ‘coming’ and is a time when many Christians get ready for Christmas and remember the birth of Jesus.

Pupils explore Advent traditions, including wreaths and candles, Advent calendars, carol singing, visiting church, and making a Christingle. They discover how these lights represent hope, love and joy, and how each tradition connects to the Christmas story and the special meaning of light for many people.
